The Nature Conservancy commissioned Nick Hall to document the Hadza tribe of northern Tanzania, in one of the most life-changing assignments of his career.

The Hadza are one of the last remaining hunter-gatherer tribes on earth. They have lived in their area for more than 35,000 years, and yet, until recently, they never held official land rights.

Nick spent time amongst the tribe, capturing their daily life and what makes their traditional practices unique.

Nick was awarded a PDN Annual ‘World in Focus’ award for the lead image from this story, a competition that celebrates the best of the world’s travel photographers.
